Macmillan Cancer Support exists to improve the lives of people living with cancer and their families and carers. One in three of us will be diagnosed with cancer at some point in our lives and we are all affected. Macmillan provides practical, medical, emotional and financial support. We are a source of support. We are a force for change. We are Macmillan!
Macmillan has received some £205,000 through donations from Jane's Appeal and through partnership with the Jane Tomlinson's Leeds 10K. That money will have gone a long way to helping, people living with cancer. Examples of the sort of things this money could fund include:
- £46,696 could fund a Macmillan nurse for one year.
- £22,000 could fund 100,000 copies of The Cancer Guide
- £50,000 could pay for a small information suite in a hospital or library
- £73,687 could fund a Welfare Benefits Adviser for three years
- £12,000 could fund a physiotherapist for 3 months.
