The Jane Tomlinson Appeal was established by the late Jane Tomlinson CBE to raise funds for children's and cancer charities.

Fundraising Ideas

From a sponsored fun run to swimming the channel, there a million ways to raise funds for charity. Our fundraisers are too many to mention but include;

  • Runners in the London, Rome and Paris Marathons
  • Cyclists pedalling from Gibraltar to the Great North Run
  • Gym members in Aerobathons
  • Triathletes in Ironman races
  • Swimmers crossing the English Channel
  • And hundreds of runners, walkers and joggers in Run For All events

The Jane Tomlinson Appeal hopes to inspire you to set your own personal goals and challenges, and will be there to support you. We truly value and appreciate all of your efforts. Together we can reach our targets and make a difference to children's and cancer charities.

Below are some ideas on how to fundraise - if you have any fundraising ideas which are tried and tested then please let us know by contacting us at info@janetomlinsonappeal.com.

1. Personal Challenge

Choose something challenging, maybe walking, swimming, running, climbing etc. and get sponsored to do it.

2. Go Casual

Ask your teacher or boss if your can have a charity 'dress down' day and ask everyone to pay £1 to take part.

3. Coffee Morning/Afternoon Tea

Organise a coffee morning or an afternoon tea party. Ask your friends and neighbours to come along and make a small charge and perhaps you can arrange a small raffle or quiz!

4. Give Something Up

Perhaps a sponsored slim or give up cigarettes or sweets and get people to sponsor you for each day that you manage to go without.

5. Mile of Coins

Get people at school or work to join in a mile of coins. How many coins in mile? Now there's a question but as always someone will be smart enough to work it out.
