Yorkshire charity the Jane Tomlinson Appeal has thanked Bradford-based chartered accountants Watson Buckle for the financial advice and support it has provided it over the years.
Set up in 2002 by Jane Tomlinson CBE, the Appeal helps children's and cancer charities across Yorkshire, the UK and the globe.
Before her death in 2007, Jane raised £1.85 million for children's and cancer charities through a series of physical challenges including her Ride Across America. Jane knew her life was limited but wanted to create a vehicle which would allow others across communities the opportunity to raise money for good causes close to their own hearts and to share in the excitement and fulfilment that she had experienced through her own fundraising events.
Since its launch, the Appeal has to date raised more than £4million for charity and over the years the Appeal has supported a range of charities both local and nationally, helping to fund refurbishment projects and purchase vital medical equipment.
Watson Buckle have provided accounts and finance assistance to the Appeal since it became a charity in 2005. They have produced the accounts for the charity each year as well as undertaking the annual audit.
They have also provided services and support for the Charity's event companies Run For All, Walk For All and Marathon Yorkshire since the launch of each.
Mike Tomlinson, Jane's husband and trustee of the Jane Tomlinson Appeal, said: "We are grateful for the continuing support of Ian Gill and all the team at Watson Buckle.
"They have provided invaluable advice and expertise since we became a recognised charity in 2005, ensuring that our finances remain on a firm footing, allowing us to continue to provide financial support for range of local charities and projects.
"We look forward to continuing this successful relationship in the future."
Ian Gill, partner at Watson Buckle, said the firm was delighted to support the charity.
He said: "We have been a proud supporter of the charity for many years providing accountancy and audit services, as well as financial advice.
"The Jane Tomlinson Appeal does great work in the local area, supporting charities and projects, so we are pleased to play a small part in their continued success.
"We hope to continue our excellent relationship for many more years, providing the charity with a solid financial platform to expand its charitable work across the region and beyond."
