If you're struggling to motivate yourself this winter, the York Rose Runners have just the answer for you to keep up the miles throughout the festive season!
The York Rose Runners are inviting everyone to take part in their December Running Challenge. This sees you challenge yourself to running 50 miles throughout the month of December. Anyone can take part - you can clock up your miles anytime, anywhere. Whether you run on your own, with a buddy or as part of a group, all you need to do is reach 50 miles before the end of December.
Not only is this a fantastic way to motivate yourself through those winter runs, upon successful completion of the challenge you will receive a medal to mark your achievement!
With the main running events season over it can be difficult to
force yourself out for that training run - especially in the cold,
dark, rain or snow! This makes it all the more difficult to get
going again once the event season kicks off. By setting an end
goal, the December Challenge is a fantastic way to motivate
yourself throughout the month!
Runners of any ability can take part - your pace or time is irrelevant. All that matters is that you hit the 50 mile mark.
It's just £5.50 to participate in the challenge, with any proceeds going to The Appeal. If you don't quite reach the 50 mile goal to get your medal, your full entry fee will be donated the The Appeal.
All you need to take part is the Nike+ Running App. You can
download this using the links below. To join the challenge group,

If you don't own a smart phone but do have a GPS watch, don't worry - you can log your miles this way and send photo evidence to one of the challenge leaders.
