Over £5000 has been raised for the Jane Tomlinson Appeal so far this year thanks to the incredible staff at Plusnet.
Plusnet, the award-winning UK home and broadband provider, earlier in the year announced that the Jane Tomlinson Appeal was its official Charity of the Year, and since then, staff have taken on an array of fundraising challenges.
Whether it has been the Hull or Leeds 10K, payday lottery draws, sploshing the boss, cake sale or an epic bike ride the staff have embraced the challenge to raise vital funds for the Appeal.
Cycling from Sheffield to Paris was the team's latest challenge when a group of four took on a gruelling 500mile trip following the inspirational Tour de France, which recently took the region by storm.
The novice cyclists biked from Sheffield to Peterborough and on to Dover before reaching the finish line at the Eiffel Tower in Paris in just 5 days.
Andy Moores who took part in the challenge said:" The ride was the hardest challenge I have ever done, the torrential rain was especially bad but knowing that everyone was behind us and that the money we were raising was going to such a great cause kept us going.
On a couple of days we didn't finish riding until 9pm but was all worth it when we got to the Eiffel Tower at 6pm on the Saturday night. We all agree it's been an honour being able to raise money for the Jane Tomlinson Appeal......and we'd do it again!"
Chloe Snelson who coordinates all of Plusnet's charity work said, "2014 has been a great year for Yorkshire and with all our staff based in this county, they have shown a lot of passion and commitment to raise money for this great Yorkshire charity. It has been a real team effort."
Siobhan Curtis, Legacy Manager at the Jane Tomlinson Appeal said: "We have been overwhelmed by the support we have received from the team at Plusnet. Not only are they raising an incredible sum of money but the logistical and technical support they have given us over the past few months has been fantastic.
"It has been a great partnership so far and one we hope that will continue to grow from strength to strength."
Plusnet are now over half way to their target of raising £10,000 for the Appeal this year.
Thanks to the money raised by Plusnet, the Jane Tomlinson Appeal can continue to support an array of children's and cancer charities across the region.
Later this year a team from Plusnet will take part in the Yorkshire Marathon which is sponsored by the company and run by the Appeal's sister organisation Run For All.
