Barrie McDermott joins The Sporting Social

We are delighted to announce that we have a brand new member joining the panel for the first ever Sporting Social, held by the Jane Tomlinson Appeal this November. Former professional rugby league player Barrie McDermott is our new and greatly anticipated panellist, making a fantastic addition to our current panel of stars: Paralympic gold medallist Hannah Cockroft and former England defender Danny Mills.

Notorious for his aggressive approach to the sport which saw him being placed in the sin bins on multiple occasions, Barrie will undoubtedly provide endless entertainment when it comes to the sporting challenges.

Barrie said "It such a great group of people to be on the panel with and I know we will have a really entertaining evening, and what better reason to get together than for such a fantastic cause"

Indeed all of the panellists will tackle the sporting challenges the evening presents, thus with such a high calibre of sporting stars, an exciting and amusing night awaits.

Halifax-born Hannah Cockroft is currently at the peak of her game, having just won three gold medals (Women's T34 100M, Women's T34 400m and Women's T34 800m) at the World Para-Athletics Championships in July. Clearly watching these sporting favourites push themselves to the limit in an electrifying environment will be one of the highlights of the evening. However, the evening is not restricted to these playful challenges; you will be listening to live anecdotes and career highlights from each sporting star. There will also be plenty of opportunity for you, the audience, to get involved in the evening.

In joining us for the Sporting Social on November 30th at the Queens Hotel in Leeds, you will be directly raising funds for The Jane Tomlinson Appeal. The charity raises money to improve the lives of children and those affected by cancer, both through their own services and grants schemes. The Jane Tomlinson Appeal has just celebrated the amazing achievement that £10 million has been raised in Jane's name.

Your presence for this uniquely entertaining evening is very much welcomed!

Tickets are £50 each, or £450 for a table of 10, and are available via
