The Appeal attracts support from Kenya

As has been the case for the past four years, this year's Yorkshire Marathon, which took place on the 8th of October, was a massive success. Thousands of runners showed up to beat their personal best, to achieve a goal and to enjoy Yorkshire's epic scenery on the ever-popular course.

Whatever their reasons, at the Appeal we continue to be amazed by the support we receive at the Yorkshire Marathon. This year, over 200 runners ran in support of the Jane Tomlinson Appeal, with around 130 runners running the full marathon and 70 running the 10 mile; support that we are immensely grateful for.

This year even saw the Appeal receive the support of the elite Kenyan athlete Shadrack Kipkemboi Kebenei. Though he was unable to take part in the Yorkshire Marathon as planned, he has been out showing his support by running in his Appeal team top in Kenya.

'I run for the Appeal in my own town to raise awareness of cancer and the importance of running to keep healthy. I enjoy running because it keeps my body healthy.'

We are very grateful for Shadrack's support and happy that the Appeal is being represented internationally! If you're feeling inspired by Shadrack, why not join the #AppealTeam for the 2018 Yorkshire Marathon here?
