Celebrating the Rothwell Harriers – Running for Jane’s Legacy
At the Jane Tomlinson Appeal, we are incredibly proud to celebrate the continued generosity and support of the Rothwell Harriers, Jane’s very own running club. Their commitment to the Appeal over the years has been nothing short of extraordinary, and their recent £5,000 donation is another shining example of their kindness and dedication.
A special connection
Rothwell Harriers is where Jane herself trained, made lifelong friendships, and nurtured the passion for running that would become such a big part of her story. To this day, the club continues to honour Jane’s memory by fundraising, supporting our events, and carrying forward the spirit of community and determination that Jane embodied.
Making a difference
The £5,000 donated by the Harriers will go directly towards the Appeal’s work to support children and families living with cancer, and to improve the health and wellbeing of young people. This generosity ensures that Jane’s legacy lives on in tangible ways – helping real people through some of life’s toughest challenges.
More than a running club
What makes Rothwell Harriers so special is that they are more than a group of runners. They are a community. Their members have taken part in countless events, supported fundraisers, and always gone the extra mile for causes close to their hearts. For us at the Appeal, their ongoing support feels like having family by our side.
In their own words
“The canal run is about the running community coming together to support The Jane Tomlinson Appeal , we had fantastic support this year in the 5k series and Junior run . Its great seeing so many different clubs in there club colours running together” – A Rothwell Harriers member
A heartfelt thank you
To everyone at Rothwell Harriers – past and present – we want to say thank you. Your dedication, generosity, and belief in Jane’s vision continue to inspire us and those we support. You are an essential part of our journey, and we’re so proud to celebrate you.
Here’s to many more miles run, memories made, and lives changed – together.
