About the events
In partnership with the Rothwell Harriers & A.C, the Annual Canal Race series returns for its biggest year yet in 2023. Fancy something a bit different whilst still contributing to an amazing cause? The series hosts a series of events which are sure to offer something for everyone regardless of ability or preference.
The Canal Run consists of: a 1.5 mile fun run and a 5km Canal Run starting at 7pm.
Race 1 - Tuesday 2nd May 2023
Race 2 - Tuesday 6th June 2023
Race 3 - Tuesday 4th July 2023 (Jane Tomlinson Event)
Your participation is greatly welcomed, and all proceeds go directly to the Jane Tomlinson Appeal, so every runner is incredibly valuable to our cause. Past events have proved to be a huge success for The Appeal, and it is growing year after year.
So whoever you are, grab your trainers and turn excitement, hard work and anticipation into achievement, pride and elation for the 2023 Canal Race Series.

What your donation could provide
Your donation will continue our work to help children to be happier and healthier and improve the lives of people living with cancer. However much you choose to donate, learn about the difference it could make to our four projects.
- £10 Could provide a Mini Mermaid with a journal, T-shirt and medal.
- £30 Could provide the learning resources and tape for one physio at a Kinesio Taping study day
- £50 Could pay for a bereaved brother and sister to attend an activity day
